These seals spend hours on this buoy napping every day, its a perfect little safe space, though they don't look too comfortable to me, they seem to enjoy it. The lighthouse behind them is on admiralty island, which is home to more brown bears than the entire lower 48 states combined, over 1600 bears in just under 1,500 square miles. Almost impossible to imagine that many bears, not a great neighborhood for hiking.
