This peacock is part of an extremely small population on a small island in the far northwest part of Washington State. The last place I expected to stumble across a wild peacock! The locals told me that he or his ancestors escaped from an estate years ago and have been pretty much uncatchable since, so they stopped trying and let the birds run free. An absolute treat in the mossy rainforests.
